What should I verify before I browse?
The product-page specification card: the fields to demand on every listing — material, net weight, packed dimensions, dated total price and written policies — before a first purchase.
Browsing without a verification habit is how first purchases go wrong: photos persuade, and the numbers that matter hide in tabs you never opened. This page is the card to keep in view on every product page.
The specification card
Demand these fields, on the exact page of the product you are considering:
Material — the specific material, not a category word. It sets the care commitment you are buying.
Net weight — a number, not "lightweight." It decides handling reality.
Packed dimensions — box measurements. They decide the delivery route.
Total price — product + delivery + tax for your destination, with its date. It keeps the budget honest.
Policy links — written delivery, returns and privacy terms. They decide whether the purchase is workable.
A listing missing rows is not disqualified — it is incomplete. Ask, in writing, and pause while the answers are missing.
The seller verification pass
Before money moves, the seller themselves gets checked:
- Written policies exist — delivery, returns, privacy — and are specific, not "contact us."
- Contact works — one pre-sales question answered sensibly is a strong signal.
- Payment protection — a method with recourse, not irreversible transfer.
- Consistency — the same product information on the seller's own pages, not only on ads.
The three-pause rule
Pause browsing when:
- a spec row is missing and unanswered,
- a policy contradicts what a listing or chat promised,
- the total price cannot be stated for your destination.
Each pause is the checklist working, not the purchase failing.
What "ready to browse" means
It does not mean every question is answered. It means no dominant blocker remains: delivery terms are known, storage is named, the budget is one honest number, and the material direction is chosen with its upkeep accepted. From there, browsing is comparison shopping with the card above — and any product can still fail any row, which is exactly what the card is for.
